Currently, more than 170 technical bodies in the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) and the European Committee for Electrotechnical standardization (CENELEC) are developing product safety and installation safety standards. Nevertheless, SBS resources allocated to following up European standardisation have to focus in particular on those work items supporting European harmonisation legislation.
