SBS Priority Areas for European and International standards

Small Business Standards (SBS) is a European non-profit association established to represent and defend small and medium-sized enterprises’ (SMEs) interests in the standardisation process at European and international levels.

The following European and International standardisation sectors and topics have been found to be of particular interest for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Europe, according to a study carried out the consultancy company KNOWENCE, specialised in Standards, Regulations and Conformity Assessment and commissioned by Small Business Standards (SBS).

The study involved a substantial number of pan-European and national stakeholders and considered the effect of standards supporting the Single Market, Technical Regulations, Public Procurement, the twin Green and Digital transition and the EC policies for resilience and the Industrial policy.

Some of the SBS priority sectors for European and international standards include Construction, Mechanical and Machinery, Electrical equipment, Digital and ICT, Transport, Furniture or Textiles, amongst other.
