Safety of machinery - Safety requirements for the design and construction of paper making and finishing machines - Part 16: Paper and board making machines FprEN 1034-16

Scope

This European Standard applies to machines for the production of paper and board, including head box, wire section, press section, drying section, film size press, coating unit, suspension and infrared dryer, smoothing unit, integrated calender, measuring device, reel-up, integrated sheeter, drives and control system (paper and board making machines) and and is valid together with EN 1034-1:2000/prA1:2008. It deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations and hazard events relevant to machines for the production of paper and board, when used as intended and under the conditions foreseen by the manufacturer (see clause 4).
This document does not deal with hazards caused by pressure in steam-heated drying and smoothing cylinders and the steam and condensate system.
This document does not apply to:
- Tissue making machines, (see prEN 1034-17);
- Cardboard making machines, (see prEN 1034-18);
- Coating machines, (see prEN 1034-21);
- Machines for the production of corrugated board (see EN 1010-5).
This document is not applicable to paper and board making machines
