Scope

The standard specifies a procedure for determining the percentage by mass of volatile and non-volatile matters at a temperature of 105 °C in a polymer-binder based product. Note: The volatile matter content of a product (and consequently the non-volatile content matter also) is not an absolute quantity, but depends upon the period of heating used in the test. This method is not applicable to certain reactive resins like isocyanate resins or insaturated polyester resins.
