This document specifies the general requirements for metallic diaphragm valves, which are
1. with metallic shell materials;
2. with lined or unlined bodies ;
3. with weir type and straight through body designs ;
4. with manual or actuator operation.
The range of nominal sizes covered is :
- for flanged valves : sizes DN 15, DN 20, DN 25, DN 32, DN 40, DN 50, DN 65, DN 80, DN 100, DN 125,
DN 150, DN 200, DN 250, DN 300, DN 350, DN 400, DN 450 and DN 500;
- for screwed valves : sizes ¼, 3/8, ½, ¾, 1, 1¼, 1½, 2, 2½ and 3 ;

DN 100, DN 125, DN 150 and DN 200.
The range of PN and Class designations covered is PN 6, PN 10, PN 16 and PN 25, Class 125 and Class 150.
For valves subject to European legislation on pressure equipment, EN 16668 applies together with this document.
This document applies to metallic diaphragm valves used for all industrial applications.
Additional requirements given in the relevant application standards may apply to diaphragm valves used for more specific applications (e.g. for the water industry, the chemical and petrochemical process industry, the gas distribution industry).
Legislation related to this standard
