This European Standard establishes the principles the manufacturer has to follow when he determines the appropriate measures (verifications and tests and means of providing information) which have to be done before putting a crane into first use. This European Standard only deals with cranes and not means of support of cranes. Note: Specific requirements for particular types of crane are given in the appropriate European Standard for the particular crane type. The hazards covered by this standard are identified in clause 4.
