Scope

This recommendation applies to rigid line measures of length of high precision, either single-valued or multiple-valued, on bars of metal or glass. These measures are hereinafter referred to as "line measures" or "measures". The recommendation specifies the main technical requirements for the fabrication of line measures, and the metrological requirements applicable to them.
