Scope

This document specifies requirements to set a quality level for workwear garments dependent on their intended use with the aim to keep them in the use phase as long as possible, covering the reuse, repair and refurbish. This includes trims and fabrics to produce workwear garments.
Included in this document are all types of clothing designed for the workplace or specific professions, dispatched by the employer, or purchased privately to be used in professional context. Examples include general purpose workwear intended to prevent personal clothing or undergarments from soiling at the workplace to occupational clothing and uniforms.
Excluded from this document are personal protective equipment (PPE), medical devices (e.g. gowns), occupational clothing for product protection (clean room, electrostatic protected area (EPA), good manufacturing practice (GMP) or hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP), etc.), and accessories like gloves, scarfs, ties and hats.
