Scope

This document specifies requirements for performance, design, equipping and testing of road ambulances used for transport and equipped with devices for monitoring, treatment, and care of patients. It establishes requirements for patient’s compartment in terms of the working environment, ergonomic design and the safety of crew and patients.
This document specifies general requirements for all road ambulances and additional requirements for specific types of road ambulances.
This document is applicable to road ambulances capable of transporting at least one patient on a stretcher or in a transport incubator system.
