Scope

This document specifies measurement methods and conditions to obtain long-term noise emissions values of trains under regular operation conditions, under controlled environmental, track and vehicle conditions.
It provides measurement procedures for vehicle exterior noise when the vehicle is passing-by.
The results may be used, for example:
• To provide regular noise monitoring reports of a site or of a fleet of units
• to collect basic source data for units
