Technical Report

Scope

This Technical Report provides a catalogue of European standardization documents that have the potential for use with the Internet of Things. The standards have been developed by Technical Committees within the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sector.
This Technical Report is based on the premise that introducing the Internet of Things (IoT) can be a stepwise process building on an already established standardisation infrastructure. The standards identified in this Technical Report can therefore be considered as "IoT‐latent". In other words, they provide the potential basic building blocks for:

- Developing additional IoT services.

- Use as an example for other CEN sectors to consider as they progress to developing standards for the Internet of Things.

- Identifying a possible need to revise some of the standards to be fully functional with the IoT.

This Technical Report is structured so that the standards are associated with the responsible Technical Committee. Details are provided about the title and status of each particular document. The scope of the document is also included, and most importantly it includes an assessed relevance of the standard to the Internet of Things.
In addition to this cataloguing function, this Technical Report provides a generic model for migration from IoT‐latent standards to IoT‐enabled standards.
