SBS eLearning module 02 - How to track draft European standards supporting EU legislation

Search facility available at Genorma.com
SBS members and stakeholders, in particular Small and Medium Enterprises, may identify and track the draft standards, that are currently being prepared, to support the implementation of EU Directives and Regulations under the New Legislative Framework.
For each relevant SBS priority sector, you will find the link to identify and track Harmonised European standards, the reference of which has been published in the Official Journal, and draft European standards developed to support the implementation of EU directives and regulations.
Let's select, for instance, the lifts Directive and open it in a new page. The default settings provide you with the list containing both published standards, as well as draft standards.
At a first glance, we can check the overall figures corresponding to draft standards, published and harmonised standards. We can also obtain the figure of harmonised standards for which the European Standards Organisations have published a new standard replacing the harmonised standard that is still cited in the Official Journal.
It is important to note, that a standard may be withdrawn by the standardisation body, and remain applicable in the context of the corresponding EU legislation. This is the case, unless the reference of that harmonised standard is withdrawn, from the official journal, by the European Commission. This tool, developed in cooperation between Small Business Standards (SBS) and Genorma.com allows small and medium enterprises to access updated and integrated information about standards and legislation. In this case, we can click on any particular draft standard or harmonised standard and check the realtime status of this standard or future standard.
