This standard specifies general requirements for forged steel components of grade 10 mainly for
use in:
Chain slings of grades 10G and 10X
Steel wire rope slings
Textile slings
Intended for lifting purposes
The standard does not apply to hand forged components and welded links, nor to other welded
components.
