This standard specifies general requirements for forged steel lifting hooks with latch of grade 10 mainly for use in:

- Chain slings of grades 10G and 10X
- Steel wire rope slings
- Textile slings

Intended for lifting purposes

The standard does not apply to hand forged hooks.
