Scope

This part of EN 1545 defines data elements to be used in surface transport applications where some or all of the data is held on a machine readable card. The data elements themselves may or may not reside on the card. This will depend upon the nature of the card used and the application(s) environment in which the card is to be used. This part of EN 1545 considers the use of the data elements defined in EN 1545-1 in a number of different surface transport applications which make use of machine readable cards.
