This page provides the one-stop shop for updated information on European Standards (code EN or EN ISO) or International standards (ISO or IEC) that apply to bicycles in the European Union and in other regions of the world. Click below on the links or checkout the list of relevant standards that are identified in this page.
Most of the standards have been developed in support of the GPSD/GPSR (standards which may provide presumption of safety if their references are cited in the Official Journal under the GPSD or the GPSR), which means that bicycles that comply with these standards are considered to meet the essential safety requirements of the GPSD/GPSR. Presumption of conformity or presumption of safety can help to facilitate the free movement of bicycles within the EU and avoid compliance costs for producers and/or importers or their legal representatives in the EU.
In addition, this page provides information on helmets for bicycles and helmets for EPAC riders
