Testing methods

European standards and International Standards establishing safety requirements and testing protocols for personal e-Transporters. European and International standards, IEC standards for PeTs. These standards apply explicitly to electrically powered personal e-Transporters (PeTs), utilized within private and public areas, where the control of speed and/or steering is rooted in electric/electronic mechanisms.

These PeTs, under the established international standards, can come equipped for cargo transport and be purposed for private or commercial (inclusive of sharing services) utilization. It's worth noting that these under the EN IEC 63281 series, do not cover electric vehicles (EVs), such as electrically power-assisted cycles (EPACs), e-bikes, mopeds, motorcycles, and passenger cars.
