Specifications for gaseous hydrogen refuelling points for maritime and inland waterways vessels

Scope

This document defines the minimum requirements to ensure the interoperability of hydrogen refuelling points including fuelling protocol and operational, safety and maintenance procedures for the refuelling systems for bunkering of compressed (gaseous) hydrogen for maritime and inland waterways vessels. This document is dedicated to truck to ship hydrogen transfer and shore to ship hydrogen transfer.
This document defines the specifications for the refuelling system including:
- The bunkering connection,
- Hose,
- Breakaway,
- Failsafe features,
- Loading arm (if appropriate).
This document also presents the functional specifications for the different equipment necessary for the bunkering operation:
- Procedures including bunkering checklists,
- Responsibilities,
- Safety requirements,
- Separation distances.
