Body armour - Part 2: Stab-resistant vests (ISO/DIS 14876-2:1996)

Scope

This European Standard specifies the minimum requirements and test methods for body armour to be worn during orperations where there is a risk of stabbing nature. This European Standar specifes: a) A reproductible test that evaluates body armour's stabbing resistance which can be used by all parties involved with the manufacture and the use of bodys'armour; b) Protection levels based on minimum performance requirements. This European St. is limited to stabbing resistance only. It does not address bullet threats. A separate European St. specifying test methods and specification deals with bullet resistance.
