Standardization of reference method(s) for in vitro testing of the susceptibility of fungi with importance in human infections against antimicrobial agents. The method will allow categorization of fungi as susceptible, intermediate, or resistant to antimicrobial agents used for therapy. All routine methods will be compared to the reference method for validation to insure the reliability of the results. The standard could be used by manufacturers as a guidance document. It should allow qualification of an antifungal susceptibility device and validate the transferability of the results generated by the device.
