Scope

This standard applies to portable guided earthing rods and short-circuiting devices used in isolated electrical system sections in which the de-energized state has been previously verified. The requirements apply to portable guided earthing rods and short-circuiting devices for use in AC systems up to 60 Hz and in DC systems. Apparatus in accordance with the standard are intended for use in three-pole systems up to 36 kV and in single pole systems up to 380 kV.
