Fixed socket outlets having screwless terminals for operating voltages up to 250 V and for rated current 10/16 A prEN 50XXX

Scope

Screwless terminals in switches for household and similar fixed-electrical installations have been used successfully for a long time. For the purpose of combining switches with screwless terminals, it is essential that fixed socket-oulets also having screwless terminals are used. Due to the fact that at the national level socket-outlets for rated current of 16 A only are permissible, it is absolutely necessary that also socket-outlets having screwless terminals can carry 16 A. According to IEC 884-1 socket-outlets with screwless terminals up to a rated current of 10 A only are allowed. This IEC publication therefore is not applicable.
