European Norm

Scope

This European Standard specifies the requirements for Intrusion and Hold-up Alarm Systems (I&HAS) intended to generate an alarm in the event of intrusion, or attempted intrusion into buildings and/or provide means to activate a hold-up alarm.
The requirements described in this standard also apply to I&HAS sharing means of detection, triggering, interconnection, control, indication, notification and power supplies with other applications.
The requirements included in this standard apply to the I&HAS regardless of the technology used to achieve them.
This standard defines the functional requirements, security grades, and environmental classifications necessary to ensure the principles of Effectiveness, Reliability, Robustness and Resilience of the I&HAS.
The standard allows for I&HAS functions to be distributed across components within the supervised premises and/or remotely.
This standard does not include specific requirements for individual I&HAS components, which are specified in the relevant EN 50131 component standards, nor does it define requirements for the design, planning, installation, operation, or maintenance of systems (refer to CLC/TS 50131-7). Furthermore, this standard does not cover external perimeter security systems (refer to CLC/TS 50661-1).
This standard is not intended for certification, or any claims of compliance made against it. (see clause 19)
