Alarm systems - Intrusion and hold-up systems - Part 1: System requirements prEN 50131-1

Scope

This European Standard specifies the requirements for systems intended to generate an alarm in the event of intrusion, or attempted intrusion into buildings and/or provide means of generation of a hold-up alarm.
These requirements also apply to systems sharing means of detection, triggering, interconnection, control, communication and power supplies with other applications.
The standard does not include functional and performance requirements for external perimeter security systems (refer to CLC/TS 50661-1).
This standard applies to systems. Requirements for individual I&HAS components are given in the relevant component standards.

The standard would only apply to systems installed by competent alarm system installers.
