Scope

This European Standard applies to steam sterilizers as specified within the European Standard EN 285. The object of this European Standard is to achieve a uniform interpretation of commonly used terms of this area in order to preventambiguous use of them. Note: Although this European Standard has been developedregarding steam sterilizers as specified within the European Standard EN 285 it contains general terms used in the whole area of sterilization. Further definitions are in preparation. The structure of the final standard on terminology will be reviewed consequently.
