This European Standard defines minimum requirements for the design and performance of bariatric stretchers and other bariatric patient handling equipment used in road ambulances for handling and carrying bariatric patients in such a way that supplementary injuries due to handling are reduced to a minimum.
This European Standard aims to ensure patient safety and minimize the physical effort required by staff operating the equipment.
