Scope

This document specifies characteristics, performance requirements and test procedures for mortars exposed to the aggressive conditions arising in drain and sewer systems outside of buildings, and in wastewater treatment plants. It is applicable to mortars used in the construction, rehabilitation of drain and sewer systems outside buildings, and at wastewater treatment plants. It is not applicable to mortars exposed to untreated industrial wastewater or for factory-finished building or civil engineering components. These requirements are supplementary to EN 998, EN 1504 and EN 12004.

This document gives the general requirements common to all mortar materials and extends the range of exposure conditions described in EN 206, expanding upon “Chemical attack” to provide specific exposure conditions that can apply in wastewater systems.
