Scope

This standard defines the rules for the qualitative classification of standing timber of oaks, beech, poplar and ash. These classifications apply to potential log individualized by virtual cuts. This standard applies only to standing treeswhich are intended to be felled in the near future; for example one or two growing seasons ahead. The oaks classification applies only for the following s species: sessile oaks (Quercus sessiliflora SALISB. or Quercus petraea LIEBL.) and pedunculated oak (Quercus robur L. or Quercus pedunculata EHRH.).
