Scope

In respect of the environmental characteristics, this document provides the product category rules (PCR), complementary to EN 15804:2012+A2:2019/AC2021 for factory made and in situ thermal insulation products.
It provides the manufacture and the notified bodies additional technical information for declaring and considering the essential characteristics of the environmental sustainability in respect of the whole life cycle analysis of the thermal insulation product, as laid down in the CPR:2024 (.. - St Req …SG06 TIP).
Complementary to EN 15804:2012+A2:2019/AC2021, the PCR described in this document:
• The system boundaries
• The modelling of the processes related to the product, in respect of the:
o the manufacturing processes and inputs
o transport
o end of life.
• The scenario considerations for processes, inputs and outputs so as to assure the most reliable and representative way of LCA-evaluation to declare the environmental sustainability indicators
• The determination of the functional/declared unit to be used.
• The reference service life (RSL)
