Energy performance of buildings - Calculation of energy use for space heating and cooling prEN 15201

Scope

This standard will provide a simplified, monthly and/or hourly based method to calculate the annual energy use for space heating and cooling of buildings. This method takes the following effects into account:
- Indoor climate conditions;
- Climatic data: outdoor temperature and solar radiation;
- Position and orientation of the building;
- Thermal insulation and air tightness of the building;
- Mechanical and natural ventilation of the building, including heat recovery if any;
- Passive solar gains and solar protections;
- Passive and active night cooling;
- Internal gains including lighting;
- The cooling system (e.g. air conditioning or radiant panels) and control principles.
