Scope

This European Standard specifies material-independent performance characteristics as listed in clause 4.
It applies to the following:
a) Windows and French windows ready for installation in vertical wall apertures, or in inclined roofs (roof windows)
- fixed, openable (hinged, projecting, pivoted, sliding), or partly fixed, with or without fanlights and lateral parts;
- completely glazed, or partially glazed and incorporating non-transparent infill;
- complete with related hardware;
- with or without incorporated shutters and blinds;
b) External pedestrian doorsets ready for installation in vertical wall apertures
- single leaf, or double leaf;
- flush or panelled door leaves;
- completely or partially glazed or without glazing;
- complete with related hardware;
- with or without fanlights and lateral parts;
- with or without incorporated shutters and blinds;
c) Screens
- consisting of two or more windows and/or external pedestrian doors (on one level), with or without individual frames.
External pedestrian doors, windows and French windows and screens are not considered to be structural elements.
This European Standard does not apply to:
- site-assembly of individual screens (see Annex A);
- roof lights conforming to prEN 1873 (WI 00128073 and WI 00128038);
- curtain walling conforming to prEN 13830;
- power-operated external pedestrian doors conforming to prEN 12650-1 and prEN 12650-2;
- unframed glass doors;
- revolving external pedestrian doors;
- vehicular doors conforming to prEN 13241;
- for the characteristic "Smoke control" of (openable) windows.
