This European Standard specifies the relevant characteristics and corresponding test methods for factory made geomembranes, used as a fluid or vapour barrier in civil engineering or environmental applications, e.g. reservoirs, dams, canals, tunnels, underground structures, storage and disposal sites for liquid or solid waste. NOTE: This standard should be used in conjunction with prEN 13361, 13362, 13491, 13492 and 13493, which specify the relevant characteristics per type of application. This standard covers all types of geomembranes: thermoplastic or elastomeric sheets, bituminous sheets, geosynthetic clay liners.
