This European standard deals with the requirements, the basic performance criteria and evaluation of conformity for precast ribbed floor plates made of reinforced or prestressed normal weight concrete according to EN 1992-1-1:2004 and clay void formers (blocks), used in conjunction with cast-in-situ concrete for the construction of composite floor slabs.
In particular the floor is completed with cast in situ ribs at the joints between the adjacent slabs and a possible cast in situ topping, after the positioning of proper additional reinforcement.
The products covered by this standard are intended to be used as part of structural floors in applications such as floors and roofs of any type of buildings.
The application of the standard is limited to slabs with a maximum width of 2.500 mm and a maximum depth of 340 mm.
The products may be used in seismic areas provided they fulfil the requirements specific to this use.
