1.1 General: This European Standard applies to the design of glass panes. It is concerned with the requirements for mechanical resistance of glass panes. Other requirements, e.g. concerning thermal or sound insulation, are not considered. Numerical values of the actions on buildings and civil engineering works to be taken into account in the design are not given in this standard. They are provided in ENV 1991 Basis of design and actions on structures'.
