European Norm

Scope

This European Standard specifies procedures for assessments and verification of constancy of performance of static thermoplastic tanks in relation to their characteristics and they are intended to be used for internal and/or external installations, for above ground storage of fuels.
This European Standard covers the following static thermoplastic tanks, either with or without factory assembled reinforcement, that are made of:
 blow moulded polyethylene (BM), or
 rotationally moulded polyethylene (RM), or
 rotationally moulded anionically polymerized polyamide 6 (PA) .
With regard to the intended use, this European Standard covers the following fuel:
 kerosene,
 heating oil,
 diesel,
 biofuels.

This European Standard covers static blow moulded and rotationally moulded polyethylene tanks and rotationally moulded tanks made of anionically polymerized polyamide 6 with maximum filling capacity (see 3.5) from 400 l up to and including 10 000 l.

This European Standard does not cover:
a) static thermoplastic tanks (blowmoulded and rotationally moulded) manufactured using recycled thermoplastic material (see 3.6),
b) rotationally moulded static thermoplastic tanks manufactured using regrind thermoplastic material (see 3.7),
c) blow moulded static thermoplastic tanks manufactured using more than 50 % of regrind thermoplastic material (see 3.8),
d) static thermoplastic tanks that are intended to be used for the transport and distribution of fuels or gasses, or tanks for the storage of gas.
