This European Standard specifies general requirements and testing methods for steps manufactured from iron, steel or aluminium, for use in manholes and other man entry chambers as a means of access. This standard specifies the performance criteria for the mechanical stability and resistance providing protection against falling. This Standard includes the corresponding test methods and the evaluation of conformity of the product to this Standard.
