This Standard applies to intermediate modulus and high modulus carbon filament yarns as defined in prEN ISO 13002-1. The carbon filament yarns are used for manufacturing semi-finished products and for reinforcing plastic, metallic and ceramic parts. This part 3 deals with carbon yarns which are obtained by pyrolizing Polyacrylonitrile filament yarns used as precursor.
