This standard specifies the requirements for metal moulds for the production of castings under high or low pressure or by gravity in non-ferrous alloys (such as aluminium, zinc, copper and magnesium). This standard does not apply to equipment to produce lost moulds or lost cores and lost patterns. This standard does not specify the requirements for the specification of interface or auxiliary items used in the construction of dies such as ejector pins.
