Scope

This part of the standard specifies requirements for design of the installation, verification/testing, marking and commissioning of the complete powered pedestrian door installation. Automatic pedestrian doors may be used at entrances, in interior locations, in escape routes and emergency exists, and on smoke and fire doors.
This standard does not apply to: powered doors where the door leaves move vertically, powered doors mainly intended for vehicular traffic or access for goods, powered doors within industrial premises, powered pedestrian gates or barriers, powered pedestrian turnstiles, doors used on lifts, or operation in environments where there is risk of explosion.
