Automatic door systems - Part 1 : Product requirements and test methods

Scope

This Standard specifies requirements regarding design and test methods for drive units, leaves and components of automatic pedestrian doors. Such door constructions may be operated electro-mechanically, electro-hydraulically or pneumatically.
This Standard covers Class 'A' automatic pedestrian doors used in escape routes and/or as fire doors and Class 'B' automatic pedestrian doors for applications other than Class A.
This standard does not apply to powered doors where the door leaves move vertically, powered doors mainly intended for vehicular traffic or access for goods, powered doors within industrial premises, powered pedestrian gates or barriers, powered pedestrian
turnstiles, powered doors used on lifts or operation in environments where there is a risk of explosion.
