This document specifies characteristics, related test/assessment methods and assessment and verification of constancy of performance (AVCP) procedures for prefabricated tertiary treatment units intended to be used buried in the ground, outside buildings, for the tertiary treatment of treated domestic wastewater or equivalent (effluent of product according to EN 12566-3, EN 12566-6 or TR 12566-5), up to a population of 50 PT.
Prefabricated tertiary treatment units in accordance with this document are made of concrete, steel, Unplasticized Polyvinylchloride (PVC-U), Polyethylene (PE), Polypropylene (PP), Glass Reinforced Polyester (GRP-UP), Polydicyclopentadiene (PDCPD) and/or flexible sheets made of PVC, PP, PE or Ethylene-Propylene-Diene Monomer (EPDM).
Prefabricated tertiary treatment units in accordance with this document are made of prefabricated components that are factory or site-assembled by one manufacturer and which are tested as a whole.
This document does not cover prefabricated tertiary treatment units where vehicle loads apply to it, and/or with direct infiltration into the ground (non-watertight), and/or made of retrofit kits (see definition in 3.1.4) and/or forming part of product covered by EN 12566-3 and EN 12566-6, and/or for microorganism reduction.
