This document specifies characteristics, related test/assessment methods and assessment and verification of constancy of performance (AVCP) procedures for prefabricated secondary treatment units intended to be used buried in the ground, outside buildings, for the treatment of septic tank (according to EN 12566-1) effluent, up to a population of 50 PT.
Prefabricated secondary treatment units in accordance with this document are made of concrete, steel, Unplasticized Polyvinylchloride (PVC-U), Polyethylene (PE), Polypropylene (PP), Glass Reinforced Polyester (GRP-UP), Polydicyclopentadiene (PDCPD) and/or flexible sheets made of PVC, PP, PE or Ethylene-Propylene-Diene Monomer (EPDM).
Prefabricated secondary treatment units in accordance with this document are made of prefabricated components that are factory or site-assembled by one manufacturer and which are tested as a whole.
This document does not cover prefabricated secondary treatment units where vehicle loads apply to it, and/or with direct infiltration into the ground (non-watertight), and/or made of retrofit kits (see definition in 3.1.4).
