This standard describes the heat flow meter method for the in-situ measurement of the surfact-to-surface thermal resistance of plane building elements, primarily consisting of opaque layers perpendicular to the density of heat flow rate and having no significant lateral heat flow rate. Some transparent elementsmay be tested when solar radiation is not impinging on the element. Specific procedures for such elements are not described in this standard.
