Surface dressing — Test methods — Part 4: Calibration of binder sprayer on stationary bench prEN 12272-4

Scope

This document specifies methods for the calibration of bituminous binder sprayers for road
surface dressing, bond coats and other sprays. It includes two test methods for the
determination of rate of spread and accuracy of spread of binder. The first test method is
practiced with a bituminous binder. The second one is practiced with a controlled viscosity oil.
These test methods can be used for both bituminous binder sprayers and the binder part of a
combined chipping-binder spreaders.
