The standard lays down the test method and the specification which allows the assessment of the crazing resistance of the glazed surfaces of sanitary appliances. This test verifies the ageing behaviour of glazed ceramic sanitaryware without taking into account failure due to moisture expansion. Internal stresses are caused by immersing the glazed ceramic sanitaryware plaques in a bath of glycerine at increasing temperatures. This test also allows the verification of the expansion between body and glaze.
