Scope

This standard covers the essential safety requirements for the design of large internal mixers for rubber and plastics (see 3.2). Other machines are not covered by this standard. Technical safety requirements for the design of exhaust ventilation equipment are not covered by this standard. The safety requirements for the interaction between internal mixers and ancillary equipment are stipulated. The technical safety requirements for the design of this equipment are not covered.
