Scope

This European Standard provides a minimum set of rules to facilitate the issue of IC cards and the design of systems accepting IC cards of various standard architectures in a multi-application environment. It proposes a choice among the options offered by the relevant International Standards, so that the most common functions may be performed efficiently.
