This draft European Standard applies to steel castings : - for structural uses in buildings and civil engineering works conforming to the Construction Product Directive (CPD) 89-106 (1). Its uses include housing and service buildings, bridges, roads, pipe networks... ; - for general engineering uses. Its uses include machinery (mechanical, electrical...), automotive industries, railroad, armament, agricultural equipment... In cases where castings are joined by welding by the founder, this European Standard applies.
