Scope

This part 4 in addition to part 1 specifies the requirements for the surface quality of hot rolled round bars and wire rod with nominal diameters of 5mm < dN < 120mm. This part 4 applies particularly for steels for engineering applications, but may by agreement also be applied for structural steels or tool steels. This part 4 does not include any requirements for the permissible depth of surface decarburization
