Scope

This standard specifies the essential terms, constructional requirements, tests and marking of indirectly heated, closed and pressurized buffer tanks with a capacity from 30 to 2,000 litres, an operating temperature range from 5 °C to 95 °C, and an operating pressure from 0.05 to 0.6 MPa in respect of the atmosphere. Although this standard does not consider any buffer tanks mainly intended for direct heating, it allows for the provision of electric heating elements for auxiliary purposes.
